CONSITUTION OF THE ODINSHOF

01. The name of the organisation shall be the ‘Odinshof,’ hereafter referred to as ‘the Hof.’

02. The objects of the Hof shall be the study of the Elder Havamal, and related subjects..

03. The Hof shall be based in England and Europe.

04. The Hof shall be a structured organisation with representation at local level.

05. The Hof shall be non-Party political and non-sectarian in its affairs.

06. The symbol of the Hof shall be a sun-boat.

07. The motto of the Hof shall be ‘Loyalty to Kinsfolk.’

08. The Hof shall have two grades of membership proper:-

(a) a novice or lower grade named ‘Odal,’ and,

(b) a higher grade named ‘Oak.’

09. The Hof shall have an associate membership category, lower than membership proper, called ‘Hof Associate.’

10. The Hof shall be controlled by its Witan Assembly, a governing body comprising of between three and thrirteen Oak graded members.

11. The Witan assembly shall have an elected leader from its own body who will, amongst other duties, appoint all other members to vacant posts on the aforementioned Assembly from Oak graded members.

12. The Witan assembly shall formulate all policy relating to the Hof and its members and associates. Its decisions shall be final and binding on all members and associates.

13. The Witan Asssembly shall control the finances of the Hof.

14. Meetings of the Witan Assembly shall proceed only after more than half of its eligible current members, representing a quorum, have assembled.

15. Prospective applicants to Odal grade must be sponsored by an existing Oak graded member.

16. Members at Odal grade must serve at least thirteen full moons in that grade before being eiligible for advancement to Oak grade and must satisfy the Witan Assembly that they are worthy and experienced enough to progress to the higher grade.

17. The Witan Assembly shall appoint all new Oak graded members from existing Odal graded members.

18. Any member or associate who, in the opinion of the Witan Assembly, brings the Hof or its aims and ideals into contempt or disrepute shall be liable for dismissal.
